DRY RUNNING PROTECTION FOR PUMPS
Magnetic drive or with mechanical seal rely on the liquid which they transport to dissipate the heat generated within the pump due to friction. If the liquid does not flow for some reason – clogged pipe, valve shut off, air intake, cavitation, etc, then the internal parts like impeller, shaft etc can get damaged due to the undissipated heat.
